Gameplay

4-in-1 Fun Pak is comprised of four classic board games:

  • Backgammon;
  • Checkers;
  • Chess and
  • Reversi

Each game can be played against a computer controlled opponent on a difficulty level ranging from 1 (easiest) to 6 (most challenging). Alternatively, the game can be played against a human opponent, either taking turns on one Game Boy system, or via link cable with two systems and two copies of the game.

Reception

4-in-1 Fun Pak received average to good reviews from the gaming press upon release. Nintendo Power praised the game for its inclusion of both link cable play and pass play, and stated that "all of the games are very simple, clean adaptations," but noting that "the computer takes a lot of time planning its moves in the higher levels."
