The Mega Drive in Australia

Notes
- Estimated marketshare was still 45% in 1996
- Sega Channel: Tele-Communications International had signed an exclusive agreement to provide the Sega Channel service in non-US countries including Australia in 1996. Some sources suggest that Galaxy and Austar had Sega channel services, but little proof has been seen. Since there were maybe 250,000 max houses that had Galaxy/Austar at that time, it'll be difficult to find the truth.
- For 99% of cases, Electronic Arts Australia distributed Genesis versions of their software, rather than Mega Drive versions. Due to cheaper transfer cost, no need for translated manuals etc.
- Gold Collection The Ottifants has a silver version.
- Launched for $399 in 1991, price was $299 by Christmas 1991[1]
