best places to get retro games in victoria

Postby jayman2142 » Sat Jun 16, 2012 8:41 pm

Hi im new to forum and collecting, only been a couple months but i was wondering if anyone new of some good markets or shops to go to?
Ive been on ebay like everyone ive realised that it can be quite expensive unless your lucky and get a decent deal, even then you still need to add postage.
ive also tried pawn shop owners but they generally know what their stock is worth so they charge a premium.

So this leaves me with flea markets and trash/tresure markets which i try to attend as much as i can but due to work i cant always travel for up to 2 hours in hopes of a bargain.
So does anyone know of any good markets for gamers or any sort of hotspots as it were?
Thank you kindly
and if this is in the wrong section or not done properly i apoligize in advance.

It depends what stuff you are after.
Lobos Collectables in Northcote (http://www.facebook.com/people/Lobos-Co ... 51?sk=info) said they were going to stock some vintage Nintendo stuff. That was about three months ago, so they must have by now. At least they have the original TRON arcade machine at the back, that alone is worth a visit.
If you are after Game & Watch games, there is Cashies shop up north that has a few of those, if you don't mind paying $60-$80 a piece.

60 to 80 bucks sounds decent for game n watches i guess depending on condition so i might check that out to.
Ive had a little luck with markets but its a chance gsme never know whos gonna be selling what of if u just missed that elusive game someone had out haha.
But i really wanna work on my collection, everyones got a vice right, just turns out this one csn be pricey haha.

Regarding Cashies in Epping, I've just been there and looks like they've sold all their Game & Watch games. The only LCD games left are the ones I've never heard off. I wrote them all down, in case anyone's looking for stuff like that:
Time & Fun DEPUTY DEN (1982) $69
SHUTTLE VOYAGE $69
SPACE ADVENTURE $49
Casio AUTO RACE (1982) $29
Time & Fun SLEEP WALKER $15
SOCCER $9
SINGA $9
Tiger Electronics SPACE FLIGHT $9
